David is responsible for ensuring the strategy of NBI is fulfilled, as well as for the overall performance and sustainability of the organisation.

David has a long and broad industry experience, and represents NBI on various local and international professional bodies.

BRONWYN BLADES

Responsibilities
Bronwyn has been the Company Secretary since 2007 and her responsibilities include strategy, risk management, corporate governance, compliance and legal oversight.

MAISHIBE NTLHANE

Financial Director

Qualifications: CA (SA), ACMA, CGMA

Responsibilities
Maishibe’s role is to contribute to the overall strategic direction and management of NBI thus ensuring the financial wellbeing of the company. She is responsible for the direction and management of the commercial activities of the company and provides guidance to the Executive Team on all financial aspects of the company’s operations.

Maishibe is the project sponsor for the Active Raw Material (ARM) programme.

DR ANDRÈ GERMISHUIZEN

Head of Division: Quality Management and Scientific Affairs

Appointed: May 2013

Qualifications: M.Eng Chemical Engineering, PhD Biochemical Engineering

Responsibilities
Andrè has overall responsibility for management of the Quality Division, and the maintenance and continuous improvement of the quality management system at NBI. He is responsible for modernising NBI’s product portfolio, manufacturing processes and application of science and engineering practices to enhance the way we work at NBI.

Andrè is the project sponsor for the Product Development programme.

RANGINI (TRISHA) CHETTY

Responsible Pharmacist

Appointed: May 2013

Qualifications: B.Pharm, M.ClinPharm, PGDip (HIV/AIDS Management), MBA

Responsibilities
As the Responsible Pharmacist, Trisha is accountable to the regulatory authorities, viz. the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) and South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC), for ensuring that only products that satisfy the safety, quality and efficacy parameters are released for sale; and for providing a professional forum to maintain and enforce professional integrity and competence amongst pharmacists and pharmacist’s assistants at NBI.

JANITHA GAINES

Head of Division: People Management

Appointed: May 2018

Qualifications: BCom, Diploma in Human Resources

Responsibilities
Janitha is responsible for the execution of NBI’s people management strategy. Her role includes driving positive employee engagement, championing learning and development, effective talent and performance management, people management governance and ultimately delivering on NBI’s employee value proposition.

She is the project sponsor for the Communication and Culture strategic programme.

SRIDHAR LAKSHMINARAYANA

Head of Division: Operations

Appointed: January 2015

Qualifications: M.Pharm

Responsibilities
Sridhar is responsible for manufacturing operations, achieving the production targets on time and within budget and, in doing so, ensuring that products are manufactured correctly and cost effectively, in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice, product specifications and quality requirements.

Sridhar is the Programme Sponsor responsible for the delivery of the new plant under Project Janus.

SHANAY SINGH

Head of Division: Business Development

Appointed: July 2020

Qualifications: B.Pharm, M.Pharm (Clinical Pharmacy), MBA

Responsibilities
Shanay is responsible for the Sales and Marketing as well as Export functions of the business. In addition, Shanay is responsible for expanding the NBI product portfolio and pipeline.

Strategically, Shanay is the Programme Sponsor for three Project Janus programmes; Additional Revenue Streams, New Products as well as the Africa and International Programme.
